Ditch Your Keyboard Player!

PadLoopsOkay, maybe that title was a little ‘Over The Top’. I am always looking for tools that I can use, either live or in the studio, to subtlety create a larger, fuller musical sound without creating too much sonic clutter. What I offer today is a pretty fool proof way to add to an overall thickness to your band’s sound without creating a whole lot of extra work.

Enter Pad Loops Homepage! Although this product is aimed at church worship music and worship leaders, it is an incredibly simple and flexible way to add more sound to your sound. Pad Loops are basic, ethereal keyboard pads in every key (Major and Minor) delivered to you as simple, 20 minute long mp3’s. To use them: 1) Just load the audio files into iTunes and your iOS device of choice [or any mp3-capable playback mechanism]. 2) Select the mp3 that’s appropriate for the key of your current song. 3) Press “PLAY” on your device and start playing the song live.

The 20-minute length of each “loop” is more than enough for any song, even medleys, and if you have a key change in the arrangement, all you have to do is move to the next audio that is in the new key. Since there is no click track or tempo-based movement in the pad itself, these Pad Loops can be used with any song, at every tempo. For songwriters, Pad Loops can give you a nice tonic pad on which to begin building and crafting a song. For sound designers, you can instantly have access to a variety of transparent pads upon which to build more specific musical elements for soundtracks and music beds.

The normal price of Pad Loops (in all keys, Major AND Minor) is normally $44.99. But if you will enter the promo code “FB2015” at checkout, they will immediately knock off another 20%. That’s WAY cheaper than a keyboard player and/or his faux ivories. Plus, you have one extra seat in the van, one less pair of stinky feet to endure, and a little extra cash in your pocket at the end of the night!

DISCLAIMER: I am not affiliated with Pad Loops in any way. I am not making a single penny from you either clicking this link or making a purchase. I have just found this tool to be incredibly helpful to me. I thought it could be useful to you as well.
